I Thought the Earth Remembered Me

This piece was performed as part of a diorama of works.

Created in response to Mary Oliver's poem 'Sleeping in the Forest', this performance sees a body unfurl from a chrysalis, suffocating as it tears its way through layers of plastic to be revealed. The work enquired into the way that human bodies are subjugated in a similar manner to the way our colonial-capitalist society is subjugating the earth's body and our relation to it.
